Founded in 2008, Kashmir World Foundation (KwF) has evolved over 17 years from a multifaceted vision for protecting endangered species into a vibrant innovation hub for education, science, technology, and wildlife conservation. In October 2025, the foundation relocated from Great Falls, Virginia, to the forested trails and mountaintop vistas of Greenwood, Arkansas. Today, this vision thrives at Montevia Sky Ranch, nestled in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains, where natural beauty meets cutting-edge exploration. It is a place where learners, scientists, engineers, and conservationists collaborate to protect wildlife and push the boundaries of technology.
“Step into Montevia Sky Ranch, a living classroom where curiosity ignites creativity, learning sparks exploration, and every idea has the power to shape the future of conservation,” says Aliyah Pandolfi, Founder of Kashmir World Foundation.

A Place Where Nature Meets Innovation
Montevia Sky Ranch spans over 150 acres of diverse landscapes, including trails, creeks, ponds, and mountaintop views. This natural setting is more than just a backdrop; it is an active part of the learning experience. Visitors can explore the environment on foot, observe wildlife, and engage with ranch animals, all while participating in hands-on projects that blend technology and conservation.
The name Montevia Sky means “Mountain Path to the Sky,” which perfectly captures the spirit of the ranch. It is a place where ideas take flight—literally and figuratively. Scientists and engineers work side by side to design and test new technologies, including drones and artificial intelligence (AI), that support conservation efforts and deepen our understanding of the natural world.
Experimenting and Innovating with Technology
At Montevia Sky Ranch, innovation is a daily activity. The ranch provides a space for learners of all ages to experiment with technology in a real-world setting. For example:
Drone Exploration: Fly drones to monitor wildlife, map habitats, and collect data from hard-to-reach areas. Our summer drone workshops teach how to build drones, collect data, and develop wildlife-monitoring skills.
AI & BioAcoustics: Analyze sensor data and wildlife sounds to identify species, track migration, and detect habitat changes, turning field observations into actionable conservation insights.
Hands-On Building: Design and test your own tech projects, from sensors to robotics, fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.
Volunteer Opportunities: This summer, join us at the ranch to assist with conservation projects, help with research, and make a real difference for wildlife and habitats.
These activities not only teach technical skills but also show how technology can support conservation goals.
Connecting Deeply with Nature
Montevia Sky Ranch encourages everyone to connect deeply with the natural world. An extensive network of trails winds through forests, alongside creeks, and up to panoramic mountain views, offering opportunities to observe native plants and wildlife in their natural habitats.
At the heart of this experience is a commitment to stewardship, horsemanship, and interspecies cohabitation. Through hands-on care of the ranch’s animals, including rescued horses, a donkey, goats, chickens, cats, and dogs, visitors learn to understand animal behavior, communication, and the responsibilities that come with caring for living beings. Horsemanship, in particular, fosters trust, patience, and partnership, while interactions with other animals highlight how different species can coexist in a balanced and respectful environment.
By engaging directly with the land and its animals, participants develop a deeper awareness of their role as stewards, fostering a lasting responsibility to protect, respect, and live in harmony with the natural world.
Protecting Wildlife Through Conservation Efforts
Conservation is at the heart of Montevia Sky Ranch’s mission. The ranch supports several ongoing projects aimed at preserving local habitats and wildlife. Some examples include:
Habitat Restoration: Volunteers and scientists work together to restore native plant species and remove invasive plants that threaten the ecosystem.
Wildlife Monitoring: Using technology and field observations, the team tracks populations of birds, mammals, and amphibians to assess their health and numbers.
Educational Programs: The ranch offers workshops and guided tours that teach visitors about conservation challenges and solutions.
These efforts help maintain the balance of the local ecosystem and provide valuable data for broader conservation initiatives.
Inspiring Action and Creativity
Every activity at Montevia Sky Ranch is designed to spark curiosity and motivate action. Whether hiking a trail, launching a drone, or participating in a restoration project, visitors leave with new skills and a deeper understanding of how they can help protect the planet.
The ranch’s approach shows that science and technology are not separate from nature; they are tools that help us explore, understand, and care for the world around us.
