About the Workshop
The Rainforest DeepData Expedition in Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula brought together a diverse team of conservationists, researchers, and tech innovators to study the rainforest’s rich biodiversity. A central focus of this mission was Bioacoustics, the study of sound waves produced by animals. By recording and analyzing bird songs, mammal vocalizations, and other natural sounds, the team aimed to unlock new methods of monitoring ecosystem health and detecting environmental threats.
During this special online event, the team will share their experiences using bioacoustics to gather critical data, such as how animals communicate and how sound patterns can indicate shifts in their environment. You'll learn how AI and acoustic sensors were integrated to track species, monitor biodiversity, and prevent poaching in real-time.
The team will also discuss the challenges they faced in the field, including setting up camera traps and sound collection devices in remote areas of the rainforest, and the fascinating…
