About the Workshop

Kashmir World Foundation is the world leader in educational robotics, providing students of all ages with innovative and hands-on STEM learning experiences. Through the DaVinci Challenge: Build a Drone Workshop, they offer a comprehensive mission-focused course to teach the basics of drone design, fabrication, robotic systems integration, 3D printing, and artificial intelligence. Register today so you can soar to new heights with robots!

Our goal is to open up pathways to new technologies and experiences to help teachers and students gain the skills they need to succeed in the future.

Build a Drone Workshop (9 am - 2:45 pm, June 26-30)

The 5-days workshop provides engaging learning experiences where participants design, build, test, and fly their own quadcopters. An essential part of the process requires participants to document their build and lectures through an engineering build log. The teams also research a flying creature and prepare a presentation on its unique flying capabilities.

Objective 1: In this hands-on workshop participants will build, program, and learn to operate a fully autonomous drone. The workshop will help students understand the mechanics of flight, the integration of hardware and software before programming and calibrating the drone for flight tests.

Objective 2: Train participants on how to fly the drone manually and execute fully autonomous missions using Mission Planner software.

Objective 3: Participants will learn about drone applications and discuss mission-focused drone projects that integrate sensors and computer vision to solve real-world problems.

A.I. on Edge Workshop (3 pm - 5 pm, June 26-29)

As A.I. becomes increasingly pervasive in the world, it's crucial to have a strong understanding of how it works and how you can harness the power of A.I. for mission-focused projects. Our workshop is tailored to give you the knowledge and skills needed to assess the potential of A.I. in academia. In this 4-day workshop, you will be learning to work with datasets and A.I. models by preparing a dataset, training an A.I. model and assessing its performance. You will also be exposed to how KwF uses A.I. on edge with its drones for real-time detection and identification in the field.

Objective 1: Learn the tools needed to create A.I. models such as Roboflow, YOLOv8, and CometML

Objective 2: Learn to annotate data and train an A.I. model

Objective 3: Learn to test your model's performance and analyze how to improve accuracy

You will be required to bring your own laptop running Windows.

The workshop fee includes all instructions, lessons, flight day, and an All-inclusive Quadcopter Drone Kit with a transmitter.

Age 14+ or Age 10+ with a team member who is at least 16 years old.

Maximum Number of Team Members: 4

If you would like to register more then 4 team members working on one drone please contact us at info@kashmirworldfoundation.org
